From its elevated position perched on a hillside, Bournemouth Oceanarium boasts stunning views across the famous pier and far out across the sea. While its restaurant with large al-fresco dining space is a tourist hot spot in the summer months, it loses half its potential on colder or rainy days.

Realising that they needed to do something about this so the space could be used more all year round, whatever the weather, Bournemouth Oceanarium contacted Broadview to provide the perfect solution.

The Broadview Solution:

After a consultation and site survey with the Oceanarium, the experienced design team at Broadview suggested installing a louvred roof pergola with stunning sliding glass panels in the al-fresco dining area.

This versatile solution means that when the sun is shining, the client can simply open the roof and slide back the glass panels, which stack neatly behind one another to maximise floor space, to completely expose the area and create the ideal outdoor dining experience customers crave. And when the weather clouds over once again, the roof can be sealed and the glass panels slid back into place to provide a completely sheltered room protected from the elements without blocking that gorgeous view.

The durable glass panels are specially reinforced and lockable to ensure the ongoing security of the premises and blend in seamlessly with the style of the art-deco building, two important considerations for the client.

Bournemouth Oceanarium is thrilled with the installation of the sliding glass panels and pergola from Broadview.
