There’s no doubt that the hospitality industry has suffered as a result of the pandemic. To pandemic-proof themselves, pubs and restaurants have had to get creative with their outside space, ensuring it’s an attractive area for guests to use all year round. Broadview was tasked with creating an all-year round space for The Old Inn in Wimborne, which incorporated our sliding glass screens.
We used our sliding glass screens alongside parasols to create a sheltered, cosy space for guests to use all year round. The sliding glass screens can be raised or lowered with weather conditions, providing extra breeze in the summer, and shelter from wind and rain during cooler times of the year.
Broadview came up with a solution that incorporated vertical guillotine glass by Habitat Win. The glass can be easily raised or lowered by staff. To accompany the sliding glass, Broadview installed two large parasols in a striking, modern blue. Then to complete the outside area, the owners of The Old Inn choose to incorporate LED lighting into the parasol frame, and to install infrared heaters so customers would be warm in all weathers.
The result was a stylish, vibrant, yet ergonomic outside area that would attract use all year round. With limited spacing inside, the pub would be able to cater to more customers inside and outside of the pandemic – summer and winter.
